After some time off last week and taking it a bit easy last week, I am back on track, after a sucessful weekend of competition and getting my driving spirit back to working out and getting out of this funk. I competed in the Life AS RX Tour in Hartford, Ct on Saturday, July 30th, 2011, and placed pretty well. At the end of the day, I finished number one after the four events, and was a good hit to my deflated ego over the last few weeks. Last week, I did some skill work and a little bit of strength, but mostly took a back off week, to clear my head and get right!
Saturday, July 30th, 2011 Competition Day:
Workout # 1:
21-15-9 of:
Kettlebell Swings @ 2 pood
DB Thrusters @ 40 lbs
Time: 3:25
Workout # 2:
Row 1000 m
Time: 3:12
Workout #3:
Max Clean and Jerk after 1000 m row, finished at 230 lbs, and was disappointed in this result, as I cleaned 240 lbs, and a month before jerked 265 lbs, so just was not feeling it.
Workout # 4:
AMRAP 15 Minutes of:
15 Overhead Squats @ 135 lbs
30 Toes to Bar
30 Ring Push-Ups
200 Double Unders
30 Pull-Ups
30 Pistols
15 Ground to Overhead @ 135 lbs
Total Reps: 396 reps
*Overall felt pretty good considering I had not done a true conditioning workout in over 4 weeks, and during that time was very lax in my programming and working out over that time period. The one thing I realized was I am pretty much keeping up with the elite in the conditioning department, but my strength is an issue, and just need to focus on this part, and really stick to a strength program.*
Monday, August 1st, 2011:
A. 5 sets of 10 Handstand Push-Ups @ 25 lbs plates
B. Snatch, 8 sets of 2 @ 135 lbs- Form and Tech Work
C. 5 Rounds for time of:
5 Power Cleans @ 185 lbs
200 Feet Sled Pulls @ 120 lbs
5 Tire Flips @ 450 lbs
Time: 14:00
*Was not looking for speed on this workout, and just focused on clean and successful reps. My legs were quite sore from saturday, and just worked as hard as possible.
