Friday Workout of the Day
Looking back at my workouts today, it was a pretty unsuccessful day within the gym of alot of misses and alot of disappointment. I had alot on my mind, and alot of business things going on over the last two days, and honestly last thing on my mind was getting my workouts in. I am making some moves with some clients of mine, and also within Vagabond, so my focus was not 100 percent today on my lifts, which def affected me during my session. I was off on my clean, and my jerk was pitiful to say the least. I was missing sets of 2 at 255 lbs today on the second rep, and it was pretty aggravating, and just called it quits after a couple more misses, as I saw more detriment than good to be done during this session.
I was in the process of calling the whole session off, due to my lack of energy and also my lack of enthusiasm and also having alot on my mind, but I gutted it out and finished up the session.
This is one of the reasons why I want to buy that piece of equipment that can measure heart rate variability, as it can enhance your ability to be able to make decisions on either decreasing your work load or staying on task for your workouts.
After the clean and jerk session, I moved onto snatches for touch n go, and hit 165 lbs for clusters of 3, which is decent, and happy I hit it after my demise during my first session.
Handstand push ups were okay, and just got through them to say the least. This is the first time I did handstand push ups in about 3 weeks! Not good in my opinion, need to be working these or at least working assistance of upper body pushing!
Another contributor to my lack of energy could be intake of my carbs has decreased dramatically to almost only 75 grams a day, which is is miniscule to what I was doing before… I weighed in at 205 lbs at the OPTATHLON last Sunday, and today, I am already down to 197 lbs, which is an 8 lbs decrease in 6 days.
Friday, October 19th, 2012 Workout:
A. Clean and Jerk Cluster, 1.1 x 5 sets, rest 5-7 minutes.
I totally screwed this up by not warming up properly and just going right into heavy weight for myself. For now on, I really got to warm up properly and build up to certain weights, and stop rushing all the time!
Worked up to 255 lbs…
B. Squat Snatch Cluster, 3.3.3 x 3 sets, rest 4 minutes.
135-155-165
C. Handstand Push Ups, Every 20 seconds x 20 minutes x Kipping Handstand Push Up to 45 lbs plates.
D. 5000 Meter Row @ Zone 1 Work
