Vagabond of the Month for January: Charleen F.
Vagabond of the Month for January:
Charleen F.
Month you were born in:
November
Where you are originally from and/or where you live now:
I was raised in East Providence, RI.
In 1990, my family moved to Canton, MA.
When I got married in 2005, I moved to Randolph where my husband was raised.
Since November 2014, I have lived in Easton, MA where we are raising our two daughters.
What days/times you typically train at VBC:
I typically train on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 4:30 pm and Saturdays at 9:00 am. As often as I can, I try and make it to the OLY class on Mondays at 6:35 pm.
My proudest accomplishment(s) in my training:
My recent and proudest accomplishment is moving into the fitness phase. I certainly felt like I had been pushing myself, and being pushed, in the lifestyle phase (no doubt about that) but I was really interested in learning more lifts that are embedded in the fitness workouts. I appreciate that Kevin and the coaches have a close eye on me to make sure that I am executing all facets of the workouts correctly and safely. In November, I completed my first half marathon and that was a big accomplishment, yeah! I definitely feel that my training in CrossFit (and hitting the pavement) got me prepared for the race. Finally, I am proud that I am making time to work on my flexibility and range of motion through the guidance of the coaches, which will only be an asset to my progress in CrossFit. I have always loved fitness but was discouraged by the everyday cardio machines, self-prescribed strength training and group classes. CrossFit has it all for me! I love the changes in the workouts each day and I feel such a sense of accomplishment after a tough workout. Because I love it so much, I rarely veer from my weekly workout schedule. I have never felt stronger in all my years of fitness.
What’s the best thing about Vagabond:
The best thing about Vagabond is the knowledgeable coaches and supportive community. The coaches are always there to make adjustments to make sure I am safe and they also push me when they know I am capable of being pushed to the next level. I have been fortunate to workout with friends from the past and I have made so many new friends. We all support and encourage each other throughout works and all the way to the bitter end.
