Today was a so so day… I was considering taking a rest day, since I got a lack luster sleep during the night, with probably only about 5 hours, and overall felt pretty sluggish throughout the day, but I really want to get the workout in, since I wanted a complete rest day on Thursday. I knew going into the day, I was not going to hit my goal of 275 lbs on the power clean, so I turned this into a heavy power clean single. One thing that I will take from this experience is a couple months ago, I would struggle to power clean 240 lbs, since this is my weakest lift to date, and about 30 lbs off of my squat clean, and to hit 255 lbs with some ease is a good sign that I hit this consisently and just going to take this as an off day for this lift.
The rest of the workout went pretty good, and happy with my deadlifts, as I am going through this time period to not wear a belt at all, unless it is needed at the end of the final lifts. All the deadlifts felt pretty good and felt easily done. A couple months ago, I probably deadlifted only about two times in about an 18 month period, since I partially tore my hamstring and screwed my back up. But now I am beginning to feel more comfortable, and hopefully will be back to the 500 club for deadlift in the future… My goal in the next month is to hit over 450 lbs, and make this easy….
The Handstand Push Ups were Kipping and performed as a cluster, so I would do one, and then come off… A few months ago this would not have been possible, and performed 30 plus of them, so felt good for me there…
